Microbrew
of the Month

Harpoon UFO Pumpkin
If a pumpkin vine wound its way in a field of barley, and a brewer harvested it all to make a beer, adding Northwestern hops and a blend of spices, then you'd have Harpoon's UFO Pumpkin. The malt combination provides a smooth body and slightly sweet flavor which balances perfectly with the earthy notes derived from the pure pumpkin. And, like all of Harpoon's UFO Beers, UFO Pumpkin is unfiltered so all the wonderful flavors are right there in your glass.

This fresh, contemporary look is designed to appeal to new Budweiser drinkers, while retaining the hallmarks of the brand - the bowtie, creed and medallion - which reinforce Budweiser's heritage among current drinkers. Great new look for a great beer!

ZYTHOLOGY ~ "The Study of Beer"

As schools have re-opened and it's back to the books for many, we dedicate this article to the study of Zythology which is an Anheuser-Busch InBev global program about sharing the passion for beer with others. Zythology means the "study of beer." A zythologist is a true beer connoisseur who can share many interesting facts about an immensely complex and sophisticated beverage, its ingredients, and the roles they play in the brewing process.

Zythology Facts on the Perfect Catch:
Beer and Seafood

One of the great things about beer is its variety. With a range of styles, flavors, ingredients and taste profiles, beer offers endless opportunities and pairs well with a variety of foods, including seafood. Beers such as pale ales (Bass or Alexander Keith's Pale Ale) and European-style pilsners (Michelob Lager) complement smoked, boiled, steamed or broiled seafood. Or try smoked salmon with Stella Artois - the body of the beer complements the strength of the smoke creating a great pairing on the palette. Beers are also a great complement to spicy cuisine - particularly dishes like broiled crab legs and spicy seafood gumbo. Budweiser is the perfect match for spicy dishes. The carbonation and slightly sweet flavors help to balance and refresh the palate. So the next time you're dining out or cooking at home, don't forget that a refreshing beer and a seafood dish are a perfect pairing.

Zythology: A Recipe to Help You Celebrate the End of Summer

Now's the time to try a great recipe from Anheuser-Busch's master chef Sam Niemann. Offer your guests the following dish, "Bud Light Lime Braised Shrimp," which makes 36 pieces, and you will send them home smiling.

Ingredients: 1/4 cup light olive oil, 10 cloves garlic (large, diced), 12 oz. Bud Light Lime, 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper, 36 pieces shrimp (raw, peeled, de-veined), 6 limes, cut in half, salt and black pepper to taste.

In a large skillet on high heat, add the olive oil and garlic. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the shrimp, season with cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper. Cook 2 to 3 minutes and then add the Bud Light Lime and limes. Finish cooking the shrimp, about five more minutes or until shrimp are firm and white inside.
