Domestic Beer of the Month

Bud Light is now the official beer of the NFL!
In one of the largest league sponsorship deals in history, Anheuser-Busch InBev NV has made Bud Light the official beer of the nation's richest sports league. This year, Bud Light has replaced rival Coors Light, brewed by MillerCoors LLC, and whose deal with the NFL expired at the end of last season. "This gives Bud Light real ownership of professional football within the beer category," said Dave Peacock, president of the U.S. division.
Bud Light is the best-selling beer in the U.S., but shipments of the beer declined last year for the first time since it was introduced in 1982, fueling recent efforts by Anheuser to ramp up advertising of the brand.

Oenology ~ "The Study of Wine"
This segment of this month's newsletter is dedicated to Oenology which means the "study of wine." An Oenologist is a true wine connoisseur who can share many interesting facts about an immensely complex and sophisticated beverage, its ingredients and the roles they play in the wine making process. Here are a few examples of some wine terminology and what it means:
Oenology - the study of wine
Varietal - A specific grape variety
Finish - The feel and flavor left in the mouth after swallowing
Length - The duration of the wine's finish
Bouquet - The pleasant and characteristic smell of wine
Persistence - The length and flavor of the bouquet
Supple - Easy to taste and sense with a soft texture
Football & Halloween
Football & Halloween — What do they have in common? Not much! Both activities take place in October. One is a "scary" occasion and the way the Patriot's played against Buffalo was also quite "scary." On our website and Facebook page you should be able to view all of the promos taking place at various venues throughout our sales territory for both football and Halloween.

Our Monthly Wine Review
~ Troublemaker ~
Hope Family Winery is releasing this oddity: A Rhone inspired blend made by Austin Hope. This wine is craft blended with 73% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah, 7% Mourvedre, and 12% Grenache... from three different vintages: 2008, 2009, and 2010.
Troublemaker wine combines elegance and power. Bright aromas of black cherry and licorice evolve into a stronger bouquet reminiscent of smoked meats. The wine shows amazing depth and intensity with a rich and textural mouth feel. Complete with bright red fruit flavors along with hints of leather and cocoa, it is a well-balanced wine that culminates with an extended finish.
